FAQ's
What is involved in reproductions?
Reproducing your work requires a digital file, which you may provide (minimum file size required is 300dpi), or we can create through scanning. A proofing appointment is scheduled and, if needed, you work with our graphic technician to do colour corrections to match your original work.
What types of media do you use?
PREMIUM CANVAS (21mm)
A true weave canvas with a highly engineered inkjet coating to produce exceptional prints. Your canvas will be sprayed with a water-based, UV protective spray, which is available to you in either a matte or glossy finish.
PHOTO PAPER (10mm)
This media is coated with 100% cotton resin, and is bright white, pH neutral, acid free, and offers over 100 years longevity.
FINE ART PAPER
Somerset has become one of the most loved and widely used paper in the world. Made at the St. Cuthbert's Mill in Southwest England, this paper is 100% cotton, single-sided, acid free, woolen felt textured, and archival. Available in two grades
- 285gsm: white, semi-smooth, and matte
- 505gsm: radiant white, textured, matte, & torn edge
PRESENTATION PAPER (190gsm)
A matte media mainly used as a more cost effective option for reproducing photography and posters. This heavy weight, coated matte paper offers high opacity, bright white appearance and optimal colour crispness.
What types of printers do you use?
EPSON STYLUS PRO 9880
This 44", wide-format printer uses eight-colour ink and three-level black technologies to produce prints of uncompromising quality. The pigment, water-based UltraChrome K3 inks that this printer utilizes are the standard by which all other professional-level ink technologies are measured, and the three shades of black result in a true gradation without black tone.
EPSON STYLUS PRO 11880
The latest addition to our digital department is the state-of-the-art, 60" output Epson Stylus Pro 11880. This printer offers the latest groundbreaking inkjet technologies, and superb, long lasting, consistent results. Like our Epson 9880 printer the 11880 uses UltraChrome K3 inks, offering one of the most comprehensive colour gamuts for your images. This printer also utilizes eight-colour ink technology to produce true blacks and whites through having several depths of black creating a flawless gradient. With the 11880 we are able to offer a 58" wide image on Canvas and Fine Art Paper, while still ensuring you have the borders necessary for stretching, framing and finishing.
What types of ink do you use?
We use archival, pigment-based inks which are much more resistant to UV light than dye-based inks. Images printed with pigment-based inks on archival paper have the potential of lasting well over 100 years if handled under the optimal conditions.
What is your standard turnaround time?
From scanning to your first proofing appointment is generally 7 to 10 business days. Once approved, your order can be ready anywhere between 5 to 10 business days, depending any additional processes required (ex: framing, stretching, etc.)
